Please support the smoking ban in Virginia restaurants which was proposed last session. It is important that we keep restaurants free of secondhand smoke in order to protect non-smoking patrons from its dangers. According to the American Cancer Society, secondhand smoke is a known human carcinogen; according to the Surgeon General, the elimination of smoking in indoor spaces is the ONLY real way to protect nonsmokers from secondhand smoke. It is not enough for restaurants to have a smoking section, there is nothing that can effectively elminate drifting. We appreciate your support on this issue, as we know your earnest goal is to do what is best for your consituents.
