A Rhode Island boxer abused his girlfriend's 8-year-old beagle mix named Coco, causing multiple severe injuries – including multiple rib fractures. He's facing animal cruelty charges, but we need to make sure he's banned from ever owning another animal again.
Sign the petition to demand that authorities fully prosecute this man and that he can never own animals in the future.
Coco was brought in for emergency care and had "multiple injuries consistent with physical abuse, including multiple rib fractures … and severe bruising to the chest and abdomen." Thankfully Coco's injuries were treated, but the poor pup should have never had to experience such awful abuse.
This is not the first time Coco has been treated for severe injuries, either. In August, the man and his girlfriend brought Coco to the vet with multiple rib fractures, which the couple stated were caused by "falling down the stairs."
It is no secret that domestic abuse and animal abuse go hand in hand. In fact, more than 70% of pet owners at domestic violence shelters had an abuser who also threatened or physically harmed their animal. People who will control and abuse their family are clearly willing to hurt pets, too.
