Geef de inheemsen daar waar ze recht op hebben, NU! Give the natives that what they are entitled to , NOW!

Er zijn veel voornemens te horen, maar nog weinig concreet. ER MOET DUIDELIJKHEID KOMEN! De Nationale Assemblee (DNA) wil via verscherpte wetgeving de eerste stap zetten naar bescherming van onrechtmatige uitgifte van dorpsgronden. Gelijktijdig wil het parlement werken aan de erkenning van de dorpen en gemeenschappen. Dit zei Assembleevoorzitter Jennifer Geerlings-Simons tijdens de petitie-aanbieding door Inheemsen organisaties. Om onze broeders en zusters (wereldwijd, maar hier heel specifiek Suriname) te steunen in hun strijd, willen wij middels deze petitie ook ons standpunt vanuit Nederland laten horen. Afbakening van de dorpsgebieden betekent niets minder dan dat inheemsen beperkt worden in hun leefomstandigheden. WIJ ZIJN DE OORSPRONKELIJKE BEWONERS VAN SURINAME, NIEMAND HEEFT HET RECHT OM ONS LAND IN TE PIKKEN EN AAN DERDEN TE VERKOPEN, HET IS ONSLEEFGEBIED! Wij zijn van mening dat de rechten van Inheemsen op de gronden zo vlug mogelijk geregeld moet worden in samenspraak mét ONS, de dorpshoofden. Wij, inheemsen, laten het niet zomaar gebeuren dat we binnen omheiningen moeten leven als beesten in een kooi. Teken deze petitie als u de inheemsen steunt in hun strijd voor behoud van dat wat vanaf het begin al van hen is en altijd zal blijven (het leefgebied). Inheemsen zijn de eerste OORSPRONKELIJKE BEWONERS van Suriname, daarom draagt Suriname dat met trots uit in "het wapenschild van Suriname" wat bestaat uit een schild, geflankeerd door twee Indianen, met daaronder een wimpel met het devies justitia, pietas, fides (gerechtigheid, vroomheid, vertrouwen)... Respecteer de inheemsen, toon gerechtigheid, vroomheid en bied hen(ons) vertrouwen!!!!

A lot of planning regarding the development of the Indigenous communuties in Suriname has been made, but many remain rather vague. THE TIME HAS COME FOR CLARITY! The National Assembly (DNA) through tighter legislation plans to take the first step towards protecting unlawful issuance of Indigenous village land. Simultaneously the parliament intends to work on the recognition of the villages and communities. This is what the General Assembly President Jennifer Geerlings-Simons said at the petition presentation by indigenous organizations on the 10 th of august 2016. To our brothers and sisters (worldwide, but specifically in Suriname) whom we fully support in their struggle, we want to make our position heard from the Netherlands by this petition signing. Demarcation of the village areas means nothing less than that the indigenous people are limited in their living conditions. WE ARE THE ORIGINAL PEOPLE OF SURINAME, NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT OF PECKING IN OUR VILLAGE AREAS AND TO SELL TO THIRD PARTIES, IT IS OUR TERRITORY! We believe that the rights of indigenous people on their land should be settled as soon as possible in consultation with the indigenous communities through the village chiefs and elders. We are naturepeople and live our lives completely by these conditions. We experience freedom in every aspect and belief in this. Sign this petition if you support the indigenous in their struggle to preserve that, which from the beginning has been theirs and always will be (the habitat). Natives are the first original inhabitants of Suriname, this is symbolised with much pride in "the sign of Suriname" which consists of a shield flanked by two Indians, and underneath a streamer with the words Justitia, pietas, fides (righteousness, piety , trust)... Respect the natives, show justice, piety and offer them (us) trust !!!!
