Military Dogs are currently classified as equipment. This means that they are not guaranteed transportation home or medical care after service. If an armed forces member wants to adopt his canine companion they are financially responsible for the transport and medical care of these loyal service members which is often expensive and involve a lengthy process taking up to a year. In the mean time these dogs are lept in kennels or euthanized if they are injured. Please contact your Representative and request support for this bill which has been referred to a congressional committee.
