Miss Smoothy has been the reception teacher at Brixham C of E for many years and has been a fundamental part of our children's early years & their commencement in the education system. Miss Smoothy always welcomed the children with open arms, a big smile & went above & beyond to ensure all children felt safe & were in an environment where they could thrive in their learning. I think anyone who has had an experience of Miss Smoothy could wholeheartedly say that she was the reason their child enjoyed going to school.
Parents of the reception students have noticed that a number of yr reception students are presenting with high level need, without any additional support staff for the existing reception classroom staff. We wonder if this may have had an impact on the wellbeing of the reception main teacher who has now been off school for a number of months? Due to Miss Smoothy not being at the school, there has been no consistency for the reception class & we believe this has been incredibly detrimental to their first year in school.
Miss Smoothy is the best teacher for this class & as such we request that Brixham C of E and/or ACE academy put the sufficient support in place to allow Miss Smoothy to return and continue to educate & nurture the children in the way she has for many other classes before now.
