Tell State Lawmakers to Save North Carolina's Wetlands

We need your help to save North Carolina's wetlands. These unique ecosystems are critically important to reduce flooding in our communities. They also serve as a crucial habitat for a wonderful variety of wildlife and plants (like the Venus flytrap).

Can you send a note to your state lawmakers urging them to restore protections for NC's wetlands?

Wetlands are a priceless resource for our state. They serve as natural purifiers, filtering debris and pollutants from our drinking supply. Storing as much as one million gallons of water per acre, wetlands act as sponges when it floods, absorbing excess water that could otherwise damage homes and communities and threaten lives. Without protective laws on the books, they're in danger of being developed and paved over.

Our state legislators need to know that the public strongly supports protections for wetlands and so I hope you will join me in sending a message today!

To whom it may concern:

I urge you to restore protection for NC's critical wetlands. Wetlands reduce downstream flooding, sustain wildlife and fisheries, and help filter our drinking water. Please enact strong safeguards to protect and conserve NC wetlands.
