You could be owed compensation if you’ve spent money in Apple’s App Store

Apple faces a legal claim of up to £1.5bn for allegedly overcharging for App Store purchases.
If you've ever paid to download an app or in-app content from the Apple App Store you could be owed a share of £1.5bn!
Dr Rachael Kent, a digital economy and society lecturer, is taking on Apple in the specialist UK competition court. She is accusing the tech giant of breaching competition law by abusing their dominant position, leading to you being overcharged.
When you pay to download an app or digital content as much as 30% of what you spend goes straight to Apple. This is because app developers must use the tech giants' payment systems to sell their apps, and it is here where charges are added.
Rachael's claim against Apple argues that these restrictions stop app developers from offering lower prices and leaves consumers picking up the bill for a so-called 'Apple tax', which it's been imposing for ten years.
