URGE THE SAUDI GOVERNMENT TO STOP POISONNING AND SHOOTING STRAY CATS AND DOGS

Each year the Saudi Municipalities organize large campaigns of mass poisoning and shooting of thousands of stray cats and dogs. This week the torture machine started in EVERY city of the Kingdom. The below pictures show the horrible daily life and struggling and suffering of these poor creatures victims of starvation, searching for food. The process of poisoning is simply a horrible slow torture until the animal dies. yesterday,the municipality of Onaizah choose bullets and arms.

The approved Executive Law Regulations of The Humane Law adopted by the Supreme Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States,during the thirty-second (32nd) Session in December 2011,held in Riyadh,Saudi Arabia, stipulates the obligation to improve treatment and animal welfare. In line with the teachings of Islam,Standards of animal welfare practices,Cruelty to animals etc.

According to Part.3 “Cruelty to animals” The practices of the animal’s owner are considered harsh and contrary to the provisions of the Humane Law of the Gulf Cooperation Council and its implementing regulations .
 
Art.5 “Give animals any stimulating growth drugs or any food or additives that are unauthorized by the competent authority, or expose them to mischief and death, through negligence in the storing of toxic products or disinfectants and industrial detergents or any other chemicals.

Art.10 To get rid of the sick animals in a non-compassionate way like the use of methods of slow death, or any practice that causes panic, horror and dread, or causing severe pain without any justification or to provide deliberately poison.

Part.13 “Get rid of the animals”

Art -1 It is forbidden to get rid of animals except in cases of extreme necessity, such as a pandemic sickness or injury or handicap that prevent it from living normally.

Art -2 If necessary,as in the cases of disease control, to take into account the method of slaughter or any other compassionate method under the supervision of a specialist veterinarian, to ensure the effectiveness process and compliance with the conditions of animal welfare and safety of workers and public safety.

Art-17 Must comply in accordance with the standards and controls of the World Organization for Animal Health in case slaughtering means is not used.
 

According to the above mentioned Law Articles, the ASSASSINATION, POISONING of stray cats and dogs are forbidden.

We call the International community to help us urge the Saudi Government to STOP mass poisoning and shooting of stray cats and dogs,to implement the adopted GCC law on Animal Welfare, to provide better life, built shelters, provide aid for volunteers to take care and manage shelters,to organize TNR operations (Trap, Neuter,Release), implement strict control on pet shops and private animals’ businesses, to apply strict laws and punishment on owners, breeders and animal dealers.
