Since March, the clubhouse has been closed due to concerns over SARS CoV-2. In efforts to minimize the spread, much of the state was temporarily shut down. However, as of June 17th, the governor of Connecticut gave orders allowing private clubs and gyms to reopen. JFA management is refusing to comply with this order. Meanwhile, tenants of the new buildings are paying exorbitant rents with amenity fees embedded in those rents.
We don't have access to the community room, gym, or even the bathrooms. As we are able to gather in the outdoor space with our guests, being denied access to the bathrooms presents a problem for many of us.
It is time to reopen! Guidelines can be made limiting the number of people inside the building and the gym. Equipment is normally cleaned after use, therefore that is not an issue. As there is a private theater here and movie theaters were allowed to reopen as of August 21st, there is no reason whatsoever to not reopen this. However, per a phone call to the owner, Frank Vigliotti, he stated, "I don't care, I don't feel like it," when asked why it hasn't been reopened.
JFA has taken the money of hardworking tenants to employ security guards that have been repeatedly filmed playing pool on the table that was installed for tenant use! Your money is paying for them to enjoy the space meant for us tenants.
If the clubhouse is not reopened, rent credits need to be issued to compensate tenants going back to June 17th. People did not move here to employ security personnel while access to our amenities is denied. Please join us in letting JFA know it is time to reopen by going to thepetitionsite.com and signing petition 481689217 or simply typing petition 481689217 in Google. Thank you!
