Salma Bashir, a 12 year old girl living in Pittsburgh, PA, needs her mom back. In a horrific pool accident in Egypt, her intestines were sucked out. The doctors there told her parents that they could not perform the necessary transplant surgery and they would need to travel to the US to save Salma's life. Post surgery, her body rejected the organs and her condition deteriorated.
The doctors have left her stomach open so that she receives sufficient nutrition through an IV. She's hooked up to the IV for 19 hours each day.
Through all these years, her mother has been taking care of her wounds, her IV, her medicine, and all her other needs. When her mother returned to Egypt on an emergency trip, the US embassy refused her the necessary visa to come back. Now Salma doesn't have her mom to help care for her.
Please sign this petition to support Salma and encourage the US government to grant Salma's mom the necessary visa to come back and care for her daughter.
