It is very clear that we are in desperate need of serious help, not only in our neighborhood, not just in Indiana, but all over the world. We have all lost many loved ones, or have come close to losing loved ones, over and over again. I have never been an addict, I can't speak from that point of view. However, I know what it's like to whole heartedly love an addict and be completely broken by one. I'm beyond ready for change in this world. We all know that heroin is illegal, I believe that overdosing should be illegal as well. After being stabilized from an overdose, hospitals release patients back on the streets. Understanding funds are tight, I truly believe that after being stabilized there should be mandatory jail time and/or evaluated rehab time. This may not help forever, but it is a start! These choices are made by the addicts themselves and sometimes overdosing isn't a big enough wake up call. After overdosing, they should no longer have a choice but to get help!
