DANGEROUS ROAD in Chorley - We Want the Council to Fix it.

  • by: Lorraine Kearney

Many road users who travel down Factory Lane, Whittle-le-Woods, Chorley to visit Cuerden Valley Park, Cheeky Monkey's, Whittle-le-Woods primary School and the Allotments, have been faced with dangerous road conditions with deep pot holes that over the years have damaged cars and caused cyclists to be knocked off their bikes, resulting in injury.
Factory Lane is currently un-adopted by the Lancashire Highways and therefore no one is responsible for its maintenance and repair.
This hazardous road is used by hundreds and thousands of people every year, the local residents pay council tax and businesses pay business rates, therefore we want this road to be safe for everyone who uses it and want the Council to adopt the road. Please sign this petition if you agree.

Update #19 years ago
Thank you everyone who has supported so far and signed the petition. Contractors are repairing the road today. This is a short term fix paid for by Cheeky Monkey's, Whittle School, The Parish Council, The War Memorial Trust, Infinity Cheer and Our Landlord. This is an immediate improvement which we all feel is necessary and thank you to Councillor Eric Bell for organising. We need still need signatures to petition the Highways/Local council to adopt the road and maintain it going forward.
