Residents of Lache and Saltney have recently become aware of plans by the council who intend to build on the land between the railway line, Thurston Road and Stanley Park Drive, (otherwise known as the Ashtrack) if their plans go ahead residents will lose this valuable wildlife corridor bringing a loss to nature and life. We have already suffered a great loss to surrounding nature and wildlife due to the Wrexham road development, there are more than enough houses now. Hands off the Ashtrack.
As it stands this cherished green space is home to much diverse wildlife including badgers, foxes, breeding lapwings, green finches, buzzards, Jay's, sparrowhawks, apple trees, blackberry bushes, wildflowers and so much more. We would like to keep it this way and continue to encourage nature to flourish, this green space is cherished by the people who live around it and it holds fond memories which span generations. Lets not forget that access to natural spaces is vital for our well-being and in addition to our vibrant wildlife there is also an air raid shelter which is of historical importance that needs protecting.
If you care for nature and are opposed to the plans of destruction of our very much loved green spaces then please sign this petition and share with as many friends and family as you can. Together we can make a difference by protecting our surrounding nature and wildlife, not only for ourselves and our children but for future generations.
