Egypt began the cull of the nation%u2019s 300,000 pigs, the only source of livelihood for thousands of poor farmers ,despite the World Health Organisation saying there was no evidence the animals were transmitting swine flu to humans.Pregnant females and tiny piglets are stabbed in the heart and thrown in the fire .
The H1N1 swine flu virus is spread by people and is not present in Egyptian animals .
The United Nations said the mass cull of up to 400,000 pigs was "a real mistake".
