Petition in Support of Hilltop Haven!

Delsie Williams, owner of Hilltop Haven Animal Rescue and Halfway House in Coxs Creek, Kentucky desperately needs our help and support. Delsie has been called to appear before The Joint City-County Planning Commission on November 13, 2008 as a result of a complaint lodged against her for "running a business" on her property in violation of the area's ordinances.
The only thing Delsie is "running" is herself into the ground and her finances into bankruptcy on behalf of the animals! Delsie, a member of United Rescues of Kentucky, has been a "lifesaver" for our group and for animals throughout her association with its members.
It's impossible to count the number of lives Delsie has saved at NO CHARGE as she has temporarily held animals waiting to be transported to their rescue groups.
Delsie and her husband use their personal resources to do this work with an occasional small donation for food or gas that comes nowhere close to covering the expenses they incur. In addition, the Williams' drive animals long distances, using their vehicle and their gas, to ensure they arrive safely at rescues, fosters and adoptive homes.
Should the Joint City-County Planning Commission refuse to grant Delsie a "conditional usage" permit, the loss to our animal rescue community will be immeasurable. Hundreds of dogs will be euthanized that otherwise would have had a chance at a new life vie Delsie's Halfway House.
PLEASE JOIN ME IN SUPPORTING DELSIE BY SIGNING THIS PETITION, WHICH WILL BE SENT TO THE COMMISSION PRIOR TO THEIR HEARING.
TO: Joint City-County Planning Commission

We the undersigned, are requesting the Joint City-County Planning Commission to grant Delsie Williams - Owner and Operator of Hilltop Haven Rescue and Halfway House - a "conditional usage" license in order to continue, through her volunteer work, to assist shelter animals in the state of Kentucky.
Delsie's kindness and compassion has allowed us to move animals who would have otherwise been euthanized free of charge to a "safe haven" while awaiting arrangements for transport to other cities and states.
Her continued support in our endeavors has resulted in the saving of countless dogs in our state.
Financial resources provided by the government are sparse in this state. Please do not take from the deserving abandoned, abused animals of this state one of their only lifelines by closing Hilltop Haven.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
