The City of Hamilton has recently decided to fine people $10,000 for feeding birds downtown.
For hundreds of years we domesticated these birds and asked them to send our messages. As a result, they rely heavily of cities and their human relationship with food.
What is next? Fines for sharing food with the homeless because it insults a particularly pretentious part of the population?
This is a very negative direction and stance for the city to take on its wildlife population.
They could be fining people $10,000 for littering along our abundant natural trails, which is a REAL PROBLEM.
POOP ON YOUR CAR IS NOT WORTH THE LIVES OF THE BIRDS THAT INSTINCTUAL RETURN THERE, OR THE PREVENTION OF TRADITION.
