National Marine Fisheries Service is pushing to expand fisheries and allow drift gillnets back into the Leatherback Conservation Area that currently protects sea turtle habitat.
The fishing industry's search for high-priced swordfish using huge drift gillnets kills dozens of critally endangered sea turtles, whales, dolphins, sea,l sharks, rays, fish, crabs and sea birds.
Gillnets, known as the "curtian of death", shouldnt be used at all; but most definately not in the Leatherback Conservation Area that protects the critically endangered Leatherback sea turtle.
Tell the National Marine Fisheries Service their expansion plan in California is unexceptable.
