Demand London Drugs Not To Support SeaWorld!

London Drugs, a Canadian retail comapny, started a contest promoting vitamins for children with a chance to win a trip to SeaWorld, despite the death of a trainer and countless deaths of animals in captivity. With the recent release of the movie Blackfish, you'd think some corporations would realize that SeaWorld does not deserve support.
Orcas spend their natural lives roaming every ocean. It's no wonder why they become psychotic in captivity and show signs of aggression. How would you feel if you were living in a bathtub for life, limited to jog in cirlces and jump up and down till the day you die? These social animals do not belong in a zoo, which is what SeaWorld is for them. They are denied every thing natural that they need to survive. They are fed dead fish as rewards, given medications that are unnatural and harmful to them, and are punished when they don't perform. This is no way to treat any being, especially one that may be more emotionally aware of themselves than we are.
Many people that visit a SeaWorld park say it is a dreadful and depressing experience. The water is dirty and cloudy, the infrastructure looks flimsy, and just about any one that looks into the eyes of one of the orcas can see the sadness and pain they are experiencing.
This is no beautiful experience for a child and should not be promoted. Do we really want children to think that treating animals this way is resposible and acceptable?

I was dissappointed to see SeaWorld used in a contest for children's vitamins by London Drugs. Some people aren't aware that whales used in the entertainment industry are taken away from their natural habitats and often bred with family members which usually results in premature deaths and then abused in the most horrific ways. A recent movie called Blackfish will soon air on CNN showing the facts about the cruelty and deaths at SeaWorld.
Whales are fed dead fish as rewards and punished by isolation when they don't perform. Now that you know that these animals are severly abused, will you change the grand prize of your contest? SeaWorld continues to deny that any abuse or harm takes place under their authority but many ex-employees have spoken out against them because they can't stand to watch these animals suffer any longer.
An orca will stay with its birth mother till the day it dies. SeaWorld once participated in deadly captures in which hunters would trap families of orcas and take only the very young. It is proven that it is much more effective learning about these animals in their natural habitat. Once in captivity an orca's fin will flop over and scientists still aren't sure why. Some believe it's due to the tiny space that they're alotted. In captivity, orcas also show a lot of aggression, which hasn't been witnessed in the wild. Tilikum, one of SeaWorlds oldest orcas and one that was kidnapped when very young, is responsible for the deaths of three people. Yet there are no reported human deaths by an orca in the wild.
SeaWorld strives to appear like a happy pleace but once there it is anything but that. No child should have to see something like this and think it's okay to treat animals this way. Children are young and are very easily influenced by the things they see and hear, making it very possible for them to leave SeaWorld either misinformed or very upset.
Please help prevent more animal suffering by making the decision, as many other companies have, to not support SeaWorld by making them a prize in your contest.
