Demand the state of Ohio to reopen the murder investigation of Angela Marie Steele/Hair

On June 4th, 1999 at 7:11 A.M. the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from the victim's husband, Michael Steele, who many believed had a role in her death, stating that he believed his wife's car was badly burned and against a tree along side the roadway a short distance from their residence. Upon Deputies arrival and subsequent investigation, the remains of the victim were found burned in the front seat of her car. An autopsy was unable to determine the exact cause of death at the time due to the extreme heat of the fire. The cause of the fire was determined to be arson and the death ruled a homicide. The scene had been staged to give the appearance of a traffic crash. Though no charges were filed, many suspected that her husband, was in fact the same person who killed her, staged the car to look like an accident, set it ablaze, and casually walked home where he went to sleep like nothing had ever happened. The next morning as he was getting her two daughters ready for school, he discovered the wreck of her car. It is believed he  first called his mother to tell her that Angie was dead. Only after the phone call to his mother did he report it to the police. After the police arrived, They then determined it to be a homicide and arson to destroy any and all evidence of who might have killed her. Questions swirled around the family and fear took over. Who would want her dead? Why was she killed so close to home? How could someone so full of happiness and joy become the target of such a hate filled murderer? But the biggest and maybe the most important question was why and how did her husband have her rings that she NEVER took off? He had stated that she simply didn't wear her rings that day. How convenient was it that The one and only day she didn't wear her rings, the same rings she had worn everyday before this, was the same day she was murdered? Questions from everyone poured in. How could this have happened? Who was the last person to see her alive? Who could have had such hatred towards her that they would be willing to brutally murder her? Why was the scene so close to their home, and where were her rings that she wore everyday? Where was her husband during the times in question, and how strong was his alibi? Why did he call his mother first and foremost to tell her Angie was dead before it was ever confirmed by the police? Theories swirled, and questions left unanswered proved to be more than the local authorities could handle. Not only is this an unsolved homicide cold case, but it was completely swept under the rug and classified as unsolvable due to the lack of technology at the time. It was proven that she was wanting to divorce her husband, based on testimonies from her friends and family, but could the thought of divorce really pushed Mike to the point of murdering his own wife, the mother of his first born daughter? Many believed so, and many tried to push for a more in-depth investigation, but the local authorities didn't start a case against him because of how badly burnt her body was. There has never been a reopening of this case and I truly believe it is time to get justice! Was her husband pushed over the edge? Or was this just an act of senseless violence from a stranger? Sadly, no one knows still. The facts of the case are: Angie went to work like any other day. She worked her shift and was on her way home to tuck in her two, beautiful and innocent daughters, and at some point between her work place and her home, she was brutally attacked, murdered and burned beyond recognition. No charges were ever filed, no leads ever followed, and not a single person from the authorities has ever reopened the case. If someone is murdered less than 5 or 10 miles from home, there were reports that she and her husband fought that very night AFTER her shift at work, there was a divorce being sought after, and the rings she wore EVERY DAY were not on her body at the scene, but were in the possession of the husband she was leaving, then typically the spouse is in the crosshairs of the investigation as the prime and in this case, the only suspect. Not only did HER parents think he had something to do with it, but so did most of the people who read that article and looked into the case. When asked to undergo a lie detector test during the investigation, Michael Steele, who many believed to be the last person to see Angie alive, refused the test, and refused to give a reason why. To me and to anyone with a brain, that screams foul play on the spouses behalf. This case was mishandled by the police, misguided by the husband, and misled by the blatant disregard of plausible suspects by the authorities because of this "small town, everyone knows everyone" ideology that stripped this case of any chance of being solved. The authorities would rather leave this homicide case open and unsolved than cracking it wide open by naming a new suspect or Mr. Steele or his family, as the prime suspects in either the committing of, or having the knowledge of those who committed, this horribly, senseless crime. Countless lives are shattered by homicides each year, and any life lost is terrible, but to have grown up knowing your mother was brutally murdered by anyone, let alone the possibility that it was committed by her own husband, has got to be the hardest thing for her two beautiful daughters, who were only 8 and 5 years old at the time. Due to the beliefs that Mike had something to do with it and the scenario surrounding their daughters death, Angie's parents attempted and succeeded with adopting the 8 year old, who was Angie's first daughter she had before meeting Mike. The 5 year old, who was Mike and Angie's, stayed with her dad and his parents. Fights amongst the two families ensued, and a wedge was driven between the two sisters. One side claiming Angie was murdered by Mike, the other side claiming it must've just been a random act of senseless violence. Though the sisters stayed as close as the families would let them, there was always that feeling of animosity between the parents of Angie and the Steele family, who was seemingly fine with the thought of never finding out what truly happened that night. Though I am an outsider looking in, I feel that enough time has passed, and enough excuses have been made as to why they won't attempt to solve this. Not only did two little girls lose the utmost important person in their lives, but her parents lost their beautiful and only daughter they had. Her family and her friends, were basically told by the authorities that there was nothing anyone could do, even with the mounting evidence pointing at none other than Mr. Steele and his family. He had a motive. He had her rings. Those at the house reported hearing them arguing that night and The scene was so close to their home. But what's most important is, he had an opportunity to completely clear him and his family's name from the investigation by taking the polygraph test offered to him by the detectives. But his refusal was not looked at with suspicion as to why he wouldn't take it, but more so because everyone knows everyone here.
So I am begging the community to once again open up Angie's case. To put the best technology we have to use on the facts and videos of that night. If we can reopen this case and look at the footage of her at work that night, we could zoom enough to see if she was in fact wearing the rings she wore everyday that miraculously ended up in the possession of the husband she wanted to leave. Even if it was just a random act of senseless violence, I still believe we need to reopen, and go over EVERY word and statement they made regarding the death of Angela Marie Steele/Hair with a microscope and fine tooth comb. I feel as though the authorities let this one be swept under the rug. They didn't want to send a friends son to prison for the rest of his life, even if that person brutally and viciously murdered his own wife.
Angie deserves justice. Her family deserves justice. But most importantly, her daughters DESERVES JUSTICE! A lot of painful years followed this unsolved case, and a lot of tears have been shed over the unanswered questions left behind. So I beg of you, and I beg of anyone who has even an ounce of empathy for this destroyed family, please sign this petition so I can get enough support to bring this to our governors attention. Help me help this family and community heal and receive closure after a beautiful soul was taken from us, far too soon. Help me get this situation to go viral. Please sign this so I can get this to the forefront of the states cold case files so it can be solved. No matter the outcome, this family deserves to know why someone would take her beautiful soul away from us. #justiceforangie
