Palm oil production is now the biggest cause of deforestation in Indonesia. Analyzing satellite data, Greenpeace finds that some 300,000 hectares of forest were cleared for oil palm plantations between 2009 and 2011, accounting for nearly 25 percent of the 1.24 million hectares of forest the Indonesian government says were cleared during the two-year period.
Dear Mr. Giovanni Ferrero,
we all love Nutella - that's a fact. But we can no longer be quiet abbout horrific deforestation caused by the massive production of palm oil.
Since we are all concerned citizens of this planet, we urge you to stop using palm oil and help us to stop deforestation of the rainforrests.
Thank you!
