Protect the World’s Forests from Illegal Logging
Protecting forests is critical to saving the most important species and places on the planet.
However, some in Congress are trying to undermine the U.S. government’s ability to combat one of the greatest threats to those forests: the trade of illegally harvested timber. If successful, they will remove protections in the Lacey Act (which bans the import and trade of illegally logged wood) that have contributed to a 25 percent reduction in illegal logging over the last four years.
