Make Mill and Railroad safe in Brampton

As a user of Mill and Railroad I feel constantly unsafe driving and/or walking at this intersection. The City needs to install a traffic light at Mill and Railroad with pedestrian signals and a four way stop at Denison and Mill when it is built to better control traffic flow. I feel that my life is in danger every time I use this intersection because:

- visibility is poor, it is difficult to see north and southbound traffic on Mill from Railroad

- Construction and vehicles on the south side of Railroad reduces visibility further

- It is difficult to time or judge a safe turn or East-West crossing (on foot or in a car) because vehicles become confused at the level crossing and think there is a stop sign on the Southeast corner where there is not one. Vehicles also fail to signal.

- There is heavy pedestrian traffic but no crosswalk or controlled crossing.

- There are illegal cars parked doing drop offs at the GO station on the Southeast corner of railroad causing congestion which further complicates turns and east-west traffic on Railroad.

The Denison extension to Mill street, south of Railroad will make it even more difficult to see northbound traffic from the corner of Railroad, and provide another busy intersection without safe pedestrian crossings. There is no all way stop planned for Denison.

City staff has called the performance of this intersection "acceptable" and has no plans to fix it or improve safety.

I ask the City of Brampton to install a traffic light at Mill and Railroad, and a 4 way stop at the new intersection of Denison and Mill. No one should have to risk their lives at this intersection any longer. Planned density in this area will only make the situation worse.
