Demand a USDA Investigation Into Boar's Head for Its Role in the Deadly Listeria Outbreak!

An alarming listeria outbreak linked to deli meats in the United States has sickened nearly three dozen people and resulted in two tragic deaths. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported 28 cases across 12 states, with more cases likely unreported.

Sign the petition to demand a thorough investigation by the USDA into Boar's Head Provisions Co., whose liverwurst and other deli meats have been recalled due to potential contamination.

Listeria is a dangerous bacterium that can cause severe illness, especially in vulnerable populations such as the elderly, pregnant women, and those with weakened immune systems. Typical, non-fatal symptoms include vomiting and diarrhea

But if the bacteria spreads beyond the digestive tract and becomes an invasive illness, fever, flu-like symptoms, and even seizures can follow. Invasive listeriosis is the third-deadliest foodborne illness in the U.S. and can also cause pregnant women to miscarry, have a stillbirth or premature delivery, or give their baby a life-threatening infection.

Although the deli meat recall is a crucial first step, Boar's Head products have already been on shelves for a while, putting countless people at risk. The company's liverwurst tested positive for listeria, and other deli meats that were produced on the same line and same day as that contaminated meat were also sent out. This raises serious concerns about the safety of their products and processing facilities!

It's crucial to ensure that this outbreak is fully investigated to prevent future incidents. We need to know how this contamination happened and what steps will be taken to ensure it doesn't happen again!

Sign the petition to urge the USDA to hold Boar's Head accountable and implement stronger safety measures to protect public health!
