Amazon Brings in Hundreds of Billions of Dollars per Year. It Can Afford to Go Carbon Neutral & Quit Poisoning Our Planet!

The pandemic was a victory for Amazon, a company already valued in the billions, as many Americans rushed to the cheapest online retailer to avoid shopping in person. In fact, Amazon reported a net income of $33.36 billion in 2021, an increase of over $10 billion from the previous year. Its founder, Jeff Bezos, is also one of the richest men in the world. So why is a company with so much revenue doing so little to offset its gigantic carbon footprint?

Sign now to demand Amazon match Google's carbon neutrality!

One company setting a great example of carbon neutrality is Google -- which claims it was the first major company to go carbon-neutral all the way back in 2007. Now, the tech giant says it has compensated for all of the carbon it has ever used through carbon offset programs. Meanwhile, Amazon has committed to carbon neutrality by 2040 -- far past all of the carbon budget clocks that scientists have warned the world about for decades.

Worst of all, the people who will feel climate change's most dire effects largely don't even utilize Amazon's services, and certainly are nowhere near a beneficiary of Amazon's massive profits. You read that right -- the world's poorest will suffer the worst consequences of climate change, while Amazon executives make tens of millions per year. And we are running out of time to stop climate change's most catastrophic impacts.

Sign the petition now to tell Amazon that there is no excuse for their sluggishness around carbon footprints and neutrality. The company clearly has the resources and money to go carbon neutral within the next few years -- something that the planet desperately needs. Help us put pressure on Amazon to protect the planet and match Google's carbon neutrality now!
