I am reaching out to you as a constituent on behalf of the Coalition for Medicare Choices and the more than 30 million seniors and people with disabilities who rely on Medicare Advantage. Thank you for pledging to protect Medicare Advantage by signing the recent bipartisan support letter sent to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Recently, the Administration has proposed billions in devastating cuts to Medicare Advantage that will increase costs and reduce benefits for seniors and people with disabilities.
I want to remain independent and healthy without health care bills that would break my bank account. Medicare Advantage helps Americans like me by delivering better services, better access to care, and better value.
The program offers additional benefits that original Medicare doesn't cover, such as a cap on out-of-pocket costs; vision, hearing, and dental benefits; and comprehensive prescription drug coverage. Medicare Advantage plans also have the flexibility to offer expanded access to telehealth and supplemental benefits like transportation to and from medical appointments and home delivery of groceries and prescription medications. These additional benefits are critical to helping seniors and people with disabilities overcome social barriers to better health, including the about 40% of Medicare Advantage enrollees who make less than $25,000 per year, and the more than half of all racial/ethnic minorities eligible for Medicare who choose Medicare Advantage.
These are just some of the many reasons why 94% of senior voters with Medicare Advantage are satisfied with their coverage, and why Medicare Advantage earns strong bipartisan support in Congress every year.
