Taking food out of the mouths of children and the hungry: this is one of the latest deplorable moves by the current U.S. administration. Last month, the USDA -- the government agency that, among other things, is tasked with ending hunger nationwide -- announced that it was terminating over 1 billion dollars in funding that would go towards feeding the hungry.

This means that
millions of children will lose the free school lunches they desperately rely on. Families in need of support, short on cash or living in food deserts, will suddenly be
stripped of basic nutrition that food banks provide them. This comes at the exact time when food banks are actually seeing an increase in need as grocery prices rise and will only continue to do so with Trump's monstrous tariffs.
