Tell Louisiana Lawmakers to support legal system abuse reform
Legal system abuse hurts all Louisianans. In the coming weeks, lawmakers in Baton Rouge can help protect Louisianans by supporting meaningful reforms.
According to the Insurance Research Council, Louisiana is the most expensive state in the nation for auto and homeowners insurance. Plus, in the American Tort Reform Foundation's 2024-2025 report, Louisiana was named the tenth worst "Judicial Hellhole" in the nation. According to the Institute for Legal Reform, Louisiana residents pay an annual tort tax--the cost of legal system abuse that gets passed down to taxpayers--of $4,389 per household, while the state loses more than 40,500 jobs each year as a result of the legal system abuse.
All of this, coupled with exploitation by bad faith actors, can potentially drive up insurance costs for all Louisiana residents at a time when Louisianans cannot afford to pay more!
The time for reform is now! Tell the lawmakers in Baton Rouge to protect Louisianans from continued legal system abuse.

I'm concerned about the continued legal system abuse in our state. I urge you to support much-needed reforms that will protect Louisianans and ensure fairness in our legal system.
Right now, Louisiana families are bearing the brunt of the exploitation and paying $4,389 per household a year in tort tax, a direct consequence of the abuse. Any meaningful reforms would provide some common-sense transparency measures around current legal practices, protecting consumers and businesses from bad faith actors.
In this legislative session, I urge you to work with your colleagues on both sides of the aisle to pass meaningful reforms to address the ongoing legal system happening in our great state. Your effort can help lower costs for my fellow Louisiana residents and business owners while stabilizing our state's insurance marketplace.
