Tibetan Parliament (in Exile)---Dharamsala is organising a worldwide “Flame of Truth” relay from July 6, 2012 onwards. This relay will be simultaneously launched on July 6 from Leh, Ladakh (J & K), Shillong (Meghalaya) & Kochi (Kerala). This worldwide campaign will conclude on December 10 coinciding with UN human rights day.
In 2008, China pledged to make improvements in human rights and on that promise: Communist China, the most arbitrary, most brutal, most murderous, human rights abusing regime in modern history, was allowed to host the 2008 Olympics.
The world took the Communist Chinese Party leaders on trust. We were deceived. The situation is grave and has continued to worsen. The current wave of atrocities and human rights violations perpetrated by China are on a scale so large that it should shock the very conscience of all mankind.
The FLAME OF TRUTH RELAY is a global event, beginning on July 6, 2012, the 77th birthday of HH the Dalai Lama, in northern India, will travel from there across hundreds of cities around the world. The relay will end on December 10, 2012, World Wide Human Rights Day.
Hundreds of thousands of signatures and appeal letters will be collected along the flame route and will be submitted to the UN Headquarters in New York City, the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, and the UN information office in New Dehli.
PETITION:
We the undersigned add our voice to the Flame of Truth Relay being organized by the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPiE) demanding the United Nations intervene immediately on behalf of Tibet, and hold China to the same standard of human rights decency as any other country without blurring the measure of human rights protection expected of China on account of its economic, financial and trade power.

1) immediate United Nations intervention on behalf of Tibet as outlined in the Appeal Letter written by the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile.
2) the United Nations hold China to the same standard of human rights decency as any other country without blurring the measure of human rights protection expected of China on account of its economic, financial and trade power.
