Stop the Hate Speech
Hate speech is never acceptable. It is particularly egregious when instigated by members of Congress.
After being addressed by Republican Leader John Boehner and Rep. Joe "You Lie" Wilson, Tea Party extremists launched a series of bigoted attacks at House Democrats.
Reports from the protest include claims of shouting disgusting racial epithets at civil rights hero Rep. John Lewis and terrible homophobic derogatory language at Rep. Barney Frank -- as well as going so far to actually spit on a member of Congress.
It is long past time that Republican lawmakers started taking responsibility for the words and deeds of extremist protestors at their own rallies. Send a letter to Republican Leader John Boehner urging him to denounce the tea party extremists' bigoted attacks.
Dear Leader Boehner:
I am deeply saddened and concerned by the racist, homophobic, and inappropriate words and gestures that were used at a protest of health care reform legislation Sunday March 21st.

Hate speech is never acceptable. Please take action and stand up for the rights of all Americans. I ask you to strongly denounce this type of behavior and work to prevent this situation from occurring again.
