Help Us Get Solar Panels in the ISD709 District

Way back in 2018 a group of students from the Ordean East Middle School Climate Club started working on a goal to get Solar Panels in the district. The group met weekly for a year, compiling research, meeting with experts, and creating a proposition for the School Board including costs of the panels and installation. However, road blocks including the COVID 19 pandemic and not receiving permission to raise funds prevented the project from continuing. Now, after years of hiatus, student groups at East High School and Denfeld High school are working to revitalize the project. The first step is getting the go ahead from the School Board. For this to be successful support from students and interested community members across the district is crucial. By signing this petition we hope to show the School Board that the students and the Duluth community are ready for the shift twards clean energy.
