I believe that people should sign this petition because it takes a stand for innocent children. Rap music these days are so mentally destructive it's not even funny. I am a grown woman of the age of 31 and most of what's out there makes my stomach hurt. It makes me question what will become of our society. Every other word is something vulgar and profane. Rap artists have taken the responsibility away from themselves by saying they are not the children's parents and the parents are responsible for supervising what their kids listen to and watch. Well what about the parents who don't allow their kids to listen to that garbage and their kids come home from school saying things that other kids have repeated from listening to rap music? For example, my sister told me today how her son came home from school and called his brother a p*ssy. Luckily she stopped him before he got the entire word out. She asked him where he heard that and he said his littlefriend (whom was a girl) said her "p*ssy smelled good"! Come on! And I can't control the "gangster wannabes" that pull up to my neighbors house blaring the crap. I can't control the "thugs" that go into pay for their gas at the gas station and actually leave their cars on with their music blaring for the whole world to hear! It's ridiculous! I'm sick of it. And it's not only black people. It's people of all races! People starved for attention! So don't think it's a race thing. Check out some of the lines below that are recent lyrics from some of the most famous rappers out there today:

(She was on the Ellen show one day and Ellen asked her about how she felt that little kids look to her as a role model and about her vulgur lyrics. and she said something to the effect that she's not their parents. Everyone in the audience clapped. SMH)
These are just a few of the lyrics I could stomach to type. Is this something children should hear? A lot of the times kids hear it second hand, either by friends at school or idiots blaring it out in public. I'm seriously to the point where I will call the cops everytime I hear this crap playing outside the confines of someones home.
Let me make one more thing clear. The rappers that are truly artists and keep their music clean are fine with me. I can't think of any off the top of my head right now, but they have to exist. I know trying to ban something like this will be difficult but it has to be done. There has to be stricter laws regarding this. I understand the whole freedom of speech debate. But we can't openly go out and threaten to kill someone (freedom of speech) without paying some kind of consequence. These rappers should be held responsible. Kids idolize these people and i really feel as if it affects the way kids grow up. Screw freedom of speech. There's just some things that shouldn't be said. And to be honest, I don't think this is what our forefathers had in mind by creating that right.
