WHEREAS The dunes seperating the Delaware Bay and the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge have been SEVERELY BREACHED, allowing the Delaware Bay (salt water) to encroach on miles of Reserve and Private land in Delaware. Thousands of acres of Prime Hook have been devasted, WILDLIFE KILLED and dislocated and a significant part of the Delaware shoreline, its inhabited TOWNS AND FARMS DAMAGED and are continually threatened to be damaged further. In other words, the next big storm could replicate the NEW ORLEANS DISASTER. That is why swift action is needed.
WE the undersigned petition the U.S, Government, the Delaware State Government and the U.S. Division of Fish and Wildlife for:
Immediate Emergency Action to Repair the Breaches in the Dunes at Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge and
For the U.S. Division of Fish and Wildlife to Revise the Comprenhensive Conservation Plan to Protect the Towns, Farms, Roads and Wildlife in and Surrounding the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge and Insure that they will be Protected for Future Generations. Below are some interesting links to
