Castillo Developments Inc. is trying to amend the zoning at 45651 Alma Ave./ 5446-5456-5462-5478 Vedder Road/ 5471-5477-5487 Viola Street to build two buildings with a commercial ground floor and residential on top. Although they are trying to say it is a 5 story building, that does not count in the ground commercial floor, which brings it to six, plus their corner units which clearly show an increased roof line that closely resembles a SEVENTH floor. Such buildings would block the view of the neighboring buildings, add substantial traffic to the already congested area (especially during the summer months when there is already daily blockage due to Cultus Lake and Chilliwack Lake traffic), and kill many trees that are vital to this wildlife corridor. If you are a neighbor concerned with this massive development in an area that is already congested and is crucial for wildlife, a development that will also add pollutants to our aquifer (during the 18 months of construction with extensive digging to create underground parking) and encroach further on the already stressed wildlife and neighborhood, as well as increasing the already unbearable noise pollution, please sign this petition and say NO to unruly development and ask that in the future only townhomes be planned in this highly sensitive area.
