Germany has proven to be a peerless leader in its unselfish accommodations for hundreds of thousands of refugees escaping war-ravaged regions.
In addition to their extreme generosity and compassion, Germans are known for world-class football/soccer (Sorry, I'm American and have to use both terms). SPORTS are also an effective method of allowing people to put aside their differences, get together/know each other, and have a great time.
During a time when refugees have felt particularly hopeless and helpless, after having escaped war/persecution to be welcomed by Europe initially with xenophobia and racism, Germany, the 2014 World Cup Champions, ought to really make these folks feel welcome by hosting a giant football/soccer tournament (Fifa should join, they could really use some positive PR). It can be organized by skill and age, among Men's, Women's, and Children's leagues, with a finale by a Bundesliga friendly match or tournament.
This idea is bad-ass and I hope people agree.
PS - Hungary is not Invited.
Just kidding.
