Tell the Senate to Reject the "Stop the War on Coal" Act!

On September 21, 2012, the Republican-dominated House of Representatives passed H. R. 3409 -- Stop the War on Coal Act of 2012.

The Act limits the Secretary of the Interior from issuing any regulations before December 31, 2013, under the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 and would prohibit the Environmental Protection Agency  from regulating greenhouse gases. 

We believe that passage of the Act would be a great step backward in trying to bring some sanity to reducing mankind's contribution to global climate change.   The Act is being promoted as a jobs bill contributing to  the Nation's economic recovery but it is little more than a stopgap attempt to support a dangerous and dying industry.

We urge you to protect our Nation's air quality, limit the output of greenhouse gases and take a step forward for progress and the environment.  Please say "No!" to the  "Stop the War on Coal Act".
