For many years now, people in Lochgilphead in Argyll, Scotland, have been pushing for a local facility suitable for action sports, such as BMX, skateboarding and scootering, but have failed. The issue which is becoming more of a problem is more and more teenagers are getting involved in these activities, and the simple fact is that we have nowhere to go. Nowhere to express what we do. Nowhere to gather and meet new people who are also interested in action sports. The only option we have are the streets, which isn't safe. This leads to local conflicts.
Having a skatepark in Lochgilphead would benefit a large number of individuals. Not to mention the local community.
