We are demading Young willams Animal center in Knoxville Tn, Revoke it's boarding cost to owners found not guilty or that have had charges dropped. In exchange for their animals, they should donate 1 20 Pound bag of food (cat or dog) per animal. This Should only apply to those not guilty, or whom's charges have been dropped.
Reasons why? There are people everyday charged with animal neglect or animal crultey who are actually innocent. If found Not guilty or charges dropped than why should owners have to pay to get their animals back, when they were not the one's who took them to the animal shelter in the first place? In Knoxville Tn, Young willam animal center charges $10 a day per animal when brought in by animal control. The bill is left for the owner, Reguarless if they are innocent.
If this was passed,
1. Animals would go back to their owners, Keeping them from being Euthanized If a home was not found.
2. The shelter would Have more Space for more animals.
3. The shelter would have more food for animals.
Innocent people should be treated as just that, Innocent.
My name is Kayla Wallace, and this Is near and dear to me. On August 11th 2015 Knox county animal control came to my home over a "barking dog" siezing Colt my Blue tick. The following day they returned to my home with a search warrant, to sieze my black lab. They also siezed other animals not on the warrant. Siezing 8 Animals Total withing 24hrs, 5/8 animals were placed back into my custody, and 9 day's later My chihuahua was placed back into my custody.
7 months and $3,500 later Young willams animal center still has my two dog's (Jax and Colt) in their custody. No charges. Yet we are left with the finacial burden of $4,000 to get them back, when we were not the one's who took them to the shelter in the first place. In no way shape or form should we have to spend that kind of money to get our dog's back. If this was in Place Jax and Colt would be home where they belong. Innocent people should not have to pay as if they are guiltly....
