Give the mistreated employee their job back

An employee at your company was unjustly lost his job, due to a comment he made to a friend in a public space at a conference. This is a ridiculous reason to lose a job. Play Haven is being harsh, out of fear. Tell them they have nothing to fear, and should offer their job back.
