STOP abuse of animals - Adopt NOT Shop, UK

Dogs, cats, rabbits and other small animals are suffering daily.  Kept in cramped, dirty and cold cages in order that so called 'breeders' AND pet shops can make a profit.  Apart from the diseases these animals harbour there are the behavioural issues they accumulate from time spent in these disgusting conditions.  This in turn leads to the animals being abandoned (especially dogs) and ending up in rescue centres across the UK.  It has now reached epidemic proportions, with rescue centres having to put healthy dogs to sleep becuase they cannot rehome and do not have the space to keep the dog permenantly.  Its time that we, as a country, outlawed selling pets in shops and back street breeders.  We need to encourage British people to Adopt NOT Shop by stopping the sale of animals on the High Street and on social media (Facebook etc).  Sign this petition now, lets get the law changed and start saving the lives of the British pet population.

Update #1vor 11 Jahren
Hi to all you lovely signers, we have just broken the 900 signature barrier so a big thank you. Any family or friends you can get to sign the petition would help break the 1,000 signature mark. The issue of illegal puppy farms/breeders isn't going away - we need Parliament to bring in the necessary legislation to police this industry to ensure only licensed breeders exist. Thank you once again for your support. Linda Thorley - Adopt NOT Shop
