On January 29th, a terrible tragedy occurred when a military Blackhawk helicopter somehow collided with an American Airlines plane on its way to Washington D.C. from Wichita, Kansas, over the Potomac River. There were no survivors.
Trump and the right-wing were quick to blame "DEI" as the culprit, which is as preposterous as it is offensive. But it quickly became clear that they were covering for the Trump admins' own decisions that could have played a huge role in the crash.

There currently is no FAA director because Elon Musk ordered the previous director to resign over trying to hold Space X accountable for poor safety standards. In the previous week, Trump gutted a key aviation security committee, fired the heads of TSA and the Coast Guard, and changed hiring practices at the FAA. His administration has been demeaning and attacking public workers like air traffic controllers since inauguration day.
Did any of this have anything to do with the crash? We don't know, but we NEED to find out…because it certainly wasn't "DEI!"
