I, and many others, are disenfranchised in the presidential election because of the electoral college. My (our) vote does not count as evidenced by the sole campaigning in the battle ground states. Proportionally, my vote is worth less than the 3/5 vote established in the constitution.
Additionally, the electoral college enables and institutionalizes racism, misogyny, and blatant xenophobic. It promotes violent rhetoric and actions that are having destabilizing effects on our democracy. The "created stories" are having profound effects on the safety of our brothers and sisters and causing fear and worry for many.
If this were a true democracy then the will of the majority would be the declared winner. Instead we are left with unserious people who care only about their power and vanity.
It is time to stand up and have our voice heard. Let us stand together to right this grievous wrong and elevate the discourse to benefit the greater good. Let's create a true Democracy. Tom
