Save our Forest Preserves

The Forest Preserve is considering selling 52 acres of Waukegan Savanna for the expansion of Waukegan Airport. Waukegan has been underserved by the Forest Preserve. It is the first time Forest Preserve land has been sold for commercial development. The expansion will bring noise and air pollution to surrounding communities, including Waukegan, Wadsworth, Beach Park and Zion. The surrounding area is residential and there are several schools immediately adjacent to the runway.
