Implementation of a Gated Community in Millbrook First Nation

Our community has experienced numerous incidents involving drugs, weapons, and violence.
This situation is unfair not only to those who are vulnerable and often taken advantage of in their
homes, but also to those who must deal with the trauma and aftermath. These events have a
lasting impact on our people, and as family members, it places many in uncomfortable and
challenging situations. Millbrook First Nation's highway exit is one of the busiest locations in Nova Scotia, which
increases our community's vulnerability. We can no longer wait for the next regrettable incident
to occur. It is time for our community to take action and establish a gated community.
