Michael Isaacson is a professor in the Economics Department at John Jay College (CUNY). Isaacson does not represent what John Jay College expects of not only its students, but also its faculty members. He has continuously favored the notion that "dead cops" would make the country a better place. This is his way of guiding his students when considering how they make life decisions. Many students go to John Jay because it is a great school that has exceptional programs for people looking to pursue a career in law enforcement. People who work in this field risk their lives everyday in order to protect the lives of others. Mr. Isaacson does not seem to care about this, but instead decides to use a dangerous rhetoric in order to express his ideas and thoughts.  During the evening of September 15th, 2017, John Jay College's President, Karol Mason, released a statement stating that Professor Isaacson is being put on "administrative leave". What this means is that he is still a faculty member at John Jay and still being paid a salary by the college. This is unacceptable. I am starting this petition because we can not let a man with such radical thoughts and ideas be a staff member at a school whose central theme is Justice. Justice will be served when Michael Isaacson is no longer a staff member at John Jay College, no longer receives a paycheck from the college, and the college disavows everything that he has said and stands for.
