The Spanish region of Soria faces a serious threat to its sustainability: a company wants to build the largest mega-farm in Europe, which will be exploiting 20,000 cows. As occurs with other intensive livestock farms, animals will live overcrowded, in poor conditions and without dignity.
And in addition, the facility will mean a serious danger to the environment and to the people of Soria: it will generate 50 times the amount of organic waste now generated throughout the region, implying a big risk of groundwater contamination, and will consume more water than all the population of Soria.
We can not tolerate this serious threat to ecological and environmental balance of the region of Soria: sign now this petition and ask the Government of the Autonomous Community of Castilla y Leon to stop the construction of this mega-farm.
