Expansion and aiding the refugeecrisis

I think a possible solution would be for the UK to take hold of Syrian and Iraqi territories, while doing this is quite an imperialist act I think that if there are people who want to escape war torn countries such as Syria and Iraq why don't we bring our government to them, if we were to take control of Iraq and Syria and instead of just putting in a new government like what happened to Iraq we make them protectorates under the UK they would be under a fair democratic government with the military strength to defend those people, but I think this should something for the people of Syria and Iraq to decide.
