One coyote gets into the airport, which is captured and killed, and now the city council in Myrtle Beach is considering hiring "professionals" to trap and kill who knows how many of these precious animals. They look like little collies, and in fact are part of the dog family, Canidae.
Stop the slaughter. Help wildlife live in peace.
Trapping is seen as completely ineffective by biologists studying how best to control local coyote populations:

Curious Coyote Facts
Only 5-20% of coyote pups survive their first year.
The coyote can run at almost 40 mph and can get over a 8' fence.
Coyotes can breed with both domestic dogs and wolves. A dog-coyote mix is called a "coydog."
The coyote is more likely afraid of you than vice-versa.
Coyotes maintain their territory by marking it with urine.

Dear Myrtle Beach City Council:
While the details to the proposed plan to trap and kill coyotes in the area remain unclear, one thing is for certain: the capture and slaughter of wildlife should not be a decision made in haste or taken lightly. As stewards of nature we should respect all living things.
Before any decision is made on this matter I strongly encourage the council to consult biologists at the local university, Coastal Carolina, and to allow a public forum for local citizens to voice any concerns they may have over killing these members of the dog family, animals that are simply living their lives on the earth they were born in, prior to making any decsions to kill in mass.
