Divergent and The Fault in Our Stars actress Shailene Woodley and 26 others were peacefully protesting at the site of the potential North Dakota Access Pipeline when they were arrested on trespassing charges.
Woodley recorded more than 2 hours of footage and shared it on Facebook.
“I don’t know if you guys just heard me, but I was walking back to my RV, which is right there so that we can go back to camp peacefully and they grabbed me by my jacket and said that I was not allowed to continue,” she told the camera. “And they had giant guns and batons and zip ties and they’re not letting me go.”
Woodley is one of hundreds who have been peacefully protesting at this site. This pipeline will affect MANY people and our environment, and these voices need to be heard. Arresting peaceful protesters amounts to intimidation. Law enforcement needs to hear us, not target us.
Please sign this petition to drop the charges against Shailene Woodley and the 26 others protesters.
