Accessibility

Apple is well known for the array of products . They are used by everyone including those with various disabilities ( Blindness , hearing impairment , cognitive impairment and so on and so forth .) Apple has an accessibility department which is responsible for addressing software issues and bugs that could render their products inaccessible . There are various accessibility options that are available on all of Apple’s products depending on your specific impairment . From Screen Readers , screen magnification , larger text , options to add hearing aids , switches and other communication devices .

I would like to focus this petition on the issues that Blind people face who use Voiceover . Which is Apple’s built in screen reader . This allows for a person to interact with the visual elements / what is being displayed on their phone through text to speech . Every option , button , incoming call e.c.t is announced and read aloud using Voiceover’s speech.

Unfortunately, all too often issues for the blind and visually impaired that rely on Apple’s built in Screen Reader Voiceover to use their devices . Are not addressed in a timely manner. Issues that the Apple accessibility department stage that were once fixed, seem to reappear in other versions of iOS and Apple software.

The goal of this petition is to make Apple’s Accessibility’s department aware of how their lack of timely fixes can have a drastic impact on their users . Please join me in signing this petition to address your concerns with regards to accessibility .
