Last two months the activity of Russian doghunters increased significantly. They threw poisoned meat in public places and spray the grass with some poisonous liquid, which can be dangerous for people as well. Dogs were dying in horrible torments: the foam from the mouth, vormiting reflexes and convulsions.
Doghunters are volunteers killing homeless dogs and considering that they fight against wild aggressive dogs and "zooextremists" feeding and protecting homeless animals. They claim that they don't use a poison-only medicine and destroy cats and domestic animals. However, the victims of doghunters can become not only homeless animals, but domestic pets walking without a muzzle and birds as well.
Despite the fact that many threats from the protectors of homeless animals has been addressed to doghunters, and lots of people (among those are ones losing their pets) have reported to police, no serious measures have been taken yet. Moreover, the doghunter movement is getting more and more popular in Russia.
